Terms & Conditions Of Using Our Service

What To Expect When Engaging CV People®

Limitation of Liability
In no event will we, our affiliates or our or their licensors, service providers, agents, employees, officers or directors be liable for damages of any kind, under any legal theory, arising out of or in connection with your use, or inability to use, our site, any websites linked to or from it, any content on our site or on such other websites, or any services or items obtained through our site or such other websites, including any direct, indirect, special, incidental, consequential or punitive damages, including but not limited to, personal injury, pain and suffering, emotional distress, loss of revenue, loss of profits, loss of business or anticipated savings, loss of use, loss of goodwill, loss of data, missed deadlines and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise, even if foreseeable. The foregoing does not affect any liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Payments
Payment is required in full with all orders. Your credit/debit card will be debited on acceptance of your order to ensure that sufficient funds/credit are/is available in the account.
All credit/debit cards are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your card refuses to authorise payment, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery, and we are not obliged to inform you of the refusal.
Should a suspected error be made in billing your credit/debit card, our policy is to provide a full and immediate refund, pending further investigation by the management.

Complaints
We endeavour to respond to all correspondence, including complaints, within a maximum of 2 (two) business days from receipt. All complaints must be made in writing; our telephone staff are not authorised to handle such matters.
Should a complaint not be resolved to a client's satisfaction, we welcome arbitration from a respected and mutually agreed independent third party.

Delivery Format
When working on your drafts, we will provide files in PDF and Microsoft Word 2019 formats. We cannot be held liable for incompatibility issues with your individual computer set-up although we do undertake to assist as best we are able in resolving any such issues and will provide alternative, more suitable formats if we are able to do so. However, it should be noted that IT support is out of our field of expertise and if we are unable to agree upon a resolution, then the user will need to seek appropriate professional IT support at their expense. Please note; we do not create editable documents in Apple Pages, Google Docs, or any other editable format other than Microsoft Word.

Turnaround Times
Our turnaround times are guidelines, not guarantees.

Once your order is placed and your project activated, your CV writer will be assigned within 2 (two) business days. Your CV writer will message you within our platform to arrange a mutually beneficial time and schedule your consultation call. Our standard turnaround time is 3 (three) business days from the day of your consultation call – not from the day of order. We do not start work on new projects until your consultation call (or online chat) has taken place, this is to ensure we have a sound understanding of your requirements before we start work on your project. Consultation calls will usually be offered the following business day from your project being assigned (although this may not be possible in busy periods). If you are unavailable to attend consultation calls, this will lead to a delay in delivering your first drafts. We aim to complete revisions within 1 (one) business day of you requesting them. We cannot be held responsible for missed application deadlines, each client is unique, and the amount of time required to complete the documents to perfection varies from client to client. We recommend engaging our services a MINIMUM of ten business days before application deadlines. No refunds will be given for missed deadlines.

Project Completion
Our writers will work with you until you are 100% happy with your final drafts with no time limit. At this stage, we ask you to mark the project as complete in our platform so we can manage our writer's workload accordingly. Due to the volume of clients we work with, if you do not mark your project as complete, our platform will automatically close the project after 14 (fourteen) days of inactivity from you, and we assume the drafts submitted were completed to your satisfaction. Projects can be reopened at the discretion of your writer's manager, depending on your writer's current workload. Projects that have been inactive for 30 (thirty) days will not be reopened, and these projects are considered completed, provided the first drafts of the documents ordered are submitted by your writer. It is up to you as the client to provide feedback in a timely manner.

LinkedIn Profile Writing
Our LinkedIn Profile Writing service involves the provision of a document file containing a full write-up of the various sections of a LinkedIn Profile that may be easily copied and pasted into a live profile. We do not undertake to directly log in to or create profiles on behalf of our clients - this is a security measure to ensure the safety of your personal information and the confidentiality of your login credentials. We aim to complete your LinkedIn profile optimisation within 3 business days of you signing off your CV as complete.

Refunds/Cancellations
Careers Expert Group (CV People & Resume People) provide professional bespoke writing services. There is no trial or grace period after purchasing a writing service. A considerable amount of time and effort goes into critiquing, researching, drafting, writing and proofreading your new documents. It is this time that you are purchasing, rather than a tangible product. As CV/resume writing is a bespoke and tailored service, we are unable to offer full refunds once your project has been assigned to a writer. Our refund policy is as follows:

  • If you wish to cancel your order before your project has been assigned to a writer, we will issue you a full refund minus 10% for payment processing and administrative costs.

  • If you wish to cancel your order while it is being drafted, please contact your writer as soon as possible. They will inform you how many hours they have worked on your project thus far, and we will charge you for work already completed at an hourly rate of £35 per hour.

  • If you wish to cancel your order after you have been sent the first drafts of your documents, we will not issue a refund unless we are in breach of our own terms and conditions. We will, however, work on your project until you are 100% happy or reassign your project if required.

  • Under no circumstances will we issue monetary refunds after 60 (sixty) days from the placement of your order. Refunds that are approved by our Chief Financial Officer for orders placed more than 60 (sixty) days ago will be issued by way of a credit voucher which can be redeemed on our website with no expiry date.

Like any bespoke writing service, you should expect multiple drafts and revisions before a finished product is available. To ensure satisfaction with your final documents, we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Our writers will work with you throughout the revision process until the final draft is to your satisfaction. If you are unhappy with the work by your assigned writer, you may speak to our management team, and if deemed necessary, we will change your writer free of charge. If a change of writer is requested, the delivery time of 3 (three) business days (following the consultation call) is restarted to ensure the new writer is fully up to speed on the current scope of the project.
In no event will refunds be issued if deadlines are missed. Project lifecycles are unique to each individual's needs and specifications. While we aim to complete first drafts within 3 (three) business days of your initial consultation, we recommend starting the process at least 10 (ten) business days before application deadlines to ensure your documents reflect your own skills and experience and are tailored toward the position you are applying for.

Personal Document Preferences
Our CV/resume writers are professional writers; most coming from the Recruitment and HR industry, and they will complete your documents using current standards and keywords to increase your chance of being selected for an interview. CV/resume writing is an entirely bespoke and personalised service; your own personal preference may differ from the industry standards our writers adhere to. If you request to deviate from the advice our consultants give, your CV/resume will not come with our interview increase guarantee, and no refunds will be provided.

CV/Resume Length
Packages containing CVs & resumes are limited to a maximum of three pages. For the vast majority of professions, a CV/resume should NEVER exceed three pages regardless of the amount of work experience, and it is our professional advice to keep the document to this as an absolute maximum. If you require a longer resume, we class this as an Academic CV (usually utilised for lawyers, medical practitioners, etc.), and you will be required to pay the difference between a standard CV/resume rate and an Academic CV.

Phone/Zoom Consultations
Our writers work on multiple projects and with numerous clients. To ensure the integrity of the project is maintained throughout its lifecycle, phone consultations must be scheduled with you at specific times to ensure all components of the scope of the project is established, and both parties are in agreeance with the scope of works. Phone and Zoom consultations typically last no longer than 60 minutes, depending on how much information you provide within your existing CV/resume. Subsequent phone calls are at the discretion of your writer and are subject to their availability. Conversations are to remain on the Careers Expert Portal, where messages are logged and time-stamped to protect both parties' rights.

Communication with your Writer
All communication is to be completed through the chat feature on our online portal. We NEVER work via email as messages can end up in spam folders and important correspondence and documents can be missed. On assignment of your project, your writer will contact you within the online chat function to schedule your initial consultation call. All documents are uploaded to your account by your writer to download.
